Currently there are three varieties of the Hermit BBQ Sauce: The Original Smokin' Hermit BBQ Sauce, Fire & Brimstone (for those who like to "spice it up" a bit) and Chaos Sauce (Where's the fire extingusher?). All sauces are based on the same recipe...some just have more heat than others. Habenero pepper puree is added to the Fire & Brimstone, a LOT is added to the Chaos!
The Smokin Hermit Story:
After an eccentric Hermit started to make his own beer, he needed the perfect activity to accompany his handcrafted brew. He asked, “What goes better with beer than BBQ?” It wasn’t long before the Hermit built his own smoker and was travelling this great country cooking BBQ for folks. The Hermit then set out to create a unique BBQ sauce to call his own. After 12 attempts at creating a sauce, "Lucky Batch 13" made its appearance, thus the Smokin’ Hermit BBQ Sauce was born. |
